Friday 1:30-2:30pm. The 1950s and 60s saw the birth of television shows that capture Tiki Culture — the escape from the pressures of the expanding post-war economy into a fantasy of the south seas. This symposium explores, in lecture and clips, the key examples of the genre: Hawaiian Eye, Gilligan’s Island, and the end of the whole movement with the Brady Bunch and their trip to Hawaii.
Entry is included with BOTH Cocktail and Deluxe passes.
