DJ "Okie Oran" has been a DJ fixture on the San Francisco mid-century roots music scene for more than 10 years, spinning original 1940s-1960s 45 and 78 rpm records at venues such as (Club Deluxe, The Casanova, St. Mary’s Pub, The Jay N Bee Club, Delirium, The Verdi Club, The Make-out Room and more) In addition he has packed the house with a monthly 60s themed event at The Knockout in San Francisco called "Teenage Dance Craze" since 2010, after taking over for friend Sergio Iglesias. San Francisco hasn’t bopped this hard since the rockabilly-swing revival of the mid-1990s!
A collector of all things pre-1965 and the sole proprietor of destination clothing store Relic Vintage on Haight Street, Okie Oran has amassed an incredible collection of RnR, R&B, Garage, Surf, Western and Rockabilly 45s and 78 rpm records and has co-hosted a 78-only DJ night called "Shuckin' & Jivin', for the past eight years in San Francisco. Whether you are shuckin' or jivin', or simply tapping your feet, Okie Oran is sure to transport you back to a time when a dance craze happened every Friday and Saturday night!
